​Village Residents:

 The Village Board has approved at their May 10, 2021 meeting, a 4-Year Contract with Groot Industries, Inc. which will begin August 1, 2021. The new contract will include 2 Town Clean Up Days and Weekly Recycling.
Monthly Residential Rates are as follows:
                                                                                Year 1-$16.50
                                                                                Year 2-$17.16
                                                                                Year 3-$17.85
                                                                                Year 4-$18.56​​

​​You may have noticed signs throughout town regarding Surf Broadband construction. They are currently working to offer fiber optic services in town. The following questions and answers will help explain this:
~Why are we installing these lines? Is this for the school or is it a service that will be offered to all residents?
This build is to offer internet service to the residents of Sheridan.

~What services will be provided?
Surf Broadband is offering 1 gig internet at a very competitive price on a month to month basis, without commitment for a particular period of time. They offer other, less plans as well if someone doesn't need the full gig service.

~Will this require yards to be dug up? 
The fiber lines will be bored underground and will be dug to install the handholes as well as bore pits which will be restored to as good or better as the crews found them. These handholes and bore pits will be dug and installed in the right-of-way.

~What is the time frame for work completion?
6-8 weeks once the project has begun.
